Life science / chemistry education in the Amsterdam region

Qeam performed a market study regarding the future needs of organizations in the larger region of Amsterdam concerning bachelors with a life sciences / chemistry profile. Hogeschool INHOLLAND Laboratory Education gave the assignment.

The following domains were mapped:

  • Biotechnology

  • Bio-informatics

  • Biology and Medical Laboratory Research

  • Chemistry

  • Food technology

More than twenty actors were via interviews involved, e.g. 
DSM, Shell, Avantium, Solvay Pharmaceuticals, PharmaChemie, OncoMethylome Services, BioDetection Systems, Winclove Probiotics, Yakult Nederland, RIVM, AMC, VUmc, LUMC, 
Sanquin, UvA, VU, Radboud University, Amsterdamse Innovatie
Motor and Kamer van Koophandel Amsterdam.

Conclusions and recommendations were presented in a non-public report. The results support the institution to consider its options
